Job summary

Poway Unified School District is seeking a journey-level licensed electrician to plan, install, maintain and repair electrical distribution systems and related components. You will install, troubleshoot and program the digital lighting control system hardware and software.

The 8-hour day, 12-month position is located in the Facilities, Maintenance and Operations Department. A valid California driver's license must be attached with the application; salary ranges from $32.67 to $41.82 per hour and

• Experience as a journey-level electrician in planning, installation, maintenance and repair of electrical distribution systems.
• Experience with installation, troubleshooting, repair and programming of digital lighting control hardware and software.
• Valid California driver’s license required with application.

Selection Procedure

Applications will be screened, and those candidates whose backgrounds best match the requirements of the position will be invited to participate in a competitive examination process, which may include any combination of the following: Training & Experience evaluation (T&E) and Multiple-Choice Exam. Examination procedures are subject to change as deemed necessary by the Director of the Personnel Commission.

PUSD Classification Salary Range: $32.67 - $41.82 per hour

Anticipated Hiring Salary Range: $32.67 per hour (step 1) - $37.89 per hour (step 4)

Candidates who pass all of the examination processes are ranked on an eligibility list according to their score(s). Selection for the position will be made from among the top three (3) ranks of candidates. The eligibility list will be used for hiring purposes in other vacancies in the same, or equivalent, job classification and will be active for six (6) months (Merit Rule 50.100.1).

The Current vacancy is 8 hours per day, 12 months per year, located at the Facilities, Maintenance, & Operations (FMO) Department.

**A valid California driver's license must be attached and submitted with the application**

• This recruitment will be used to establish an eligibility list valid for 6 months to fill current and future openings. **
