Job summary

Beam Living is seeking an Electrician Technician for StuyTown to maintain and repair electrical systems supporting apartments and common areas. You will diagnose and resolve electrical issues, perform preventive maintenance, and support critical property systems such as intercoms, VFDs, and BMS.

Strong problem-solving and customer service are essential. This on-site role requires 3–5 years in construction trades, ability to lift up to 50 lbs., and teamwork with the maintenance staff to uphold

• Trade school graduation or equivalent education is a plus.

Responsibilities

What the role looks like
As an Electrician Technician at StuyTown, you are responsible for maintaining and repairing electrical systems that support both apartment homes and common areas. You respond to resident service requests, troubleshoot electrical issues, and complete preventive maintenance to ensure safe and reliable operations.
Daily responsibilities include diagnosing and repairing outlets, switches, lighting, panels, building equipment, and electrical controls. You also support critical property systems such as intercoms, VFDs, switchgear, and building management systems (BMS).
Success in this role requires strong technical expertise, sound judgment, and a commitment to delivering excellent customer service. The Electrician Technician works closely with the maintenance team to enhance resident satisfaction, maintain property standards, and support overall operational excellence.

What you will do
Be an ambassador of the property by answering resident questions and be generally helpful while always representing our cultural responsibilities.

• Efficiently complete all daily work orders in a specific amount of time. Communicate any delays in completing a work order with the supervisor and management office.
• Maintain a clean work environment.
• Perform routine electrical repairs within apartment homes. Examples: outlet, switch, light fixture, ballast, and breaker panel repairs and replacement when required.
• Ability to properly diagnosis electrical issues and make required repairs to achieve desired results.
• Ability to diagnosis and repair VFDs, Electrical Switchgear, Compactors and other various machine controls throughout the property.
• Ability to perform electrical PM work and minor upgrades in apartments as well as common area spaces and amenity spaces.
• Troubleshoot and evaluate security system problems and make necessary repairs.
• Troubleshoot and evaluate BMS system operating issues.
• Operation, maintenance and repair of all software and hardware for the intercom system.
• Additional duties may be assigned by your Supervisor.

Your skills and experience

• Minimum of 3-5 years experience in a construction trade.
• Trade school graduation or equivalent education is a plus.

• Ability to use tablet-based work order program to complete assigned work orders.
