Linamar Corporation in Michigan is seeking an Electrician/Maintenance Mechanic to provide electrical and mechanical support for motors, conveyors, and production machinery. You will install, inspect, repair, and design control systems, while maintaining facility electrical systems and ensuring safe operations.

The role requires 3–5 years of industrial maintenance, PLC knowledge, blueprint reading, and strong problem-solving skills.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 3–5 years industrial maintenance experience.
• Basic knowledge of PLCs.
• Ability to read blueprints and electrical schematics.
• Demonstrated mechanical and mathematical aptitude.
• Ability to work independently and with little assistance.
• Advanced knowledge of hydraulic and electrical concepts.
• Ability to identify root cause and solve problems.
• Demonstrated good housekeeping practices and 5S principles.
• Teamwork and safe working behaviors including lockout, fall protection, confined space, and mobile equipment operation.

Job Summary

Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, the Electrician/Maintenance Mechanic provides electrical and mechanical support for machinery and equipment such as motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machines and equipment by performing the following duties.

Responsibilities

• Install electrical systems and components and support the building of new machinery.
• Visually inspect and test machines and equipment to locate causes of malfunctions and dismantle devices to gain access to problem areas.
• Repair and troubleshoot electrical and mechanical systems on CNC Machines.
• Design and build machine control systems.
• Maintain, upgrade, and install electrical systems within the facility.
• Troubleshoot and repair machine controls.
• Perform routine preventative maintenance.
• Other duties as assigned.

Academic/Educational Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.

Required Skills/Experience

• 3 to 5 years industrial maintenance experience or experience in a specialized trade or skill set.
• Basic knowledge of PLCs.
• Ability to effectively communicate with others.
• Must be able to read blueprints and electrical schematics.
• Demonstrated mechanical and mathematical aptitude.
• Ability to work independently and efficiently with little to no assistance.
• Possess advanced knowledge of hydraulic and electrical concepts.
