Job summary

Linamar Corporation seeks an experienced maintenance electrician to install, maintain, test and repair industrial electrical equipment and controls. You will interpret drawings, ensure safety, and keep equipment running at peak performance in a foundry production environment.

Candidate should have a high school diploma (or equivalent) with 3–5 years electrical troubleshooting experience and be a licensed journeyman. Linamar offers competitive pay and benefits.

Qualifications

  • Background in installation, repair, testing, and troubleshooting of electrical equipment and controls.
  • Basic knowledge of industrial maintenance and understanding of inverters and frequency drives.
  • Prev preventive maintenance experience with knowledge of National Electrical Code, motors and controllers, schematic diagrams.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair electrical problems on facilities equipment.
  • Maintain equipment for productivity and reliability.
  • Analyze equipment failures, determine causes, and implement adjustments.
  • Install power, lighting, and control circuits and conduit per blueprints.
  • Test instruments for repair, measurement, and calibration; read schematics and wiring diagrams.
  • Follow Lockout/Tagout procedures and maintain maintenance records.

Responsibility
  • Perform preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair electrical problems on facilities equipment.
  • Maintain equipment for productivity.
  • Analyze equipment failures. Determine cause and make necessary adjustments.

  • Work from blueprints, drawings, sketches or layouts.
  • Test instruments for repair, measurement, and calibration.
  • Select appropriate materials and operate equipment to complete work, including electrical hand tools and voltage or ampere measuring devices.
  • Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical equipment.
  • Start up and shut down equipment according to safety procedures.
  • Maintain required maintenance records for equipment.
  • Assist and train other maintenance personnel as required.
  • Participation in continuous improvement process.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Academic/Educational Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent with a minimum of three (3) to five (5) years electrical troubleshooting experience required.
  • Licensed Journeyman.
Required Skills/Experience
  • Background in installation, repair, testing, and troubleshooting of electrical equipment and controls.
  • Basic knowledge of industrial maintenance and understanding of inverters and frequency drives required.
  • Prior preventative maintenance experience with a thorough understanding of the National Electrical Code, motors and controllers, line diagrams, and blueprint reading a must.
  • Required to understand and follow Lockout/Tagout procedures and general electrical safety.
  • Must read schematics, blueprints and wiring diagrams and machine operation instructions and quality specifications.
Working Conditions

Foundry Production Environment.
