Innovative Refrigeration Systems, Inc. is seeking a Shop Electrician to join our manufacturing team, handling installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of electrical systems for refrigeration equipment.

This 1st shift role runs Monday–Friday with alternating Saturdays and reports to the VP of Manufacturing. Candidates should have at least four years of industrial experience, a Journeyman license preferred, and proficiency with conduit, three‑phase motors, PLCs, and NEC knowledge.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 4 years’ experience in an industrial setting.
• Journeyman license preferred.
• Experience with 480V AC motor control circuits and three‑phase motors; PLC installation and troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

• Run conduit and wiring; connect disconnects, switches, and panels.
• Install, test, and repair electrical systems for refrigeration equipment.
• Troubleshoot wiring layouts and circuit routes.
• Operate forklifts/scissor lifts as needed.
• Read and maintain electrical schematics and drawings.
• Ensure safe, code-compliant electrical work.

Shop Electrician

Job Role

The Shop Electrician is a key member of our manufacturing team, handling installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of electrical systems for refrigeration equipment. This position requires strong mechanical and electrical aptitude and the ability to read and interpret engineering schematics. The role operates on a 1st shift schedule, Monday through Friday, with alternating Saturdays. Reports to the VP of Manufacturing.

Key Duties

• Run conduit and wiring; hook up disconnects, switches, push buttons, circuit panels, breakers, suppressors, transformers, and wire terminations
• Install, maintain, test, evaluate, and repair electrical systems including medium/high voltage automation systems and motor control circuits
• Troubleshoot wiring system layouts and circuit routing
• Operate forklifts and/or scissor lifts as required
• Read and maintain mechanical/electrical engineering drawings and schematics
• Maintain and troubleshoot PLC sensors
• Troubleshoot electrical problems on all refrigeration equipment
• Assist in general construction duties
• Safely and properly use electrical testing equipment

Requirements

• Minimum of 4 years’ experience in an industrial setting; Journeyman license preferred
• Experience running and bending rigid conduit (up to at least 4 inches)
• Knowledge of three-phase motors
• Experience with 480v AC motor control circuits preferred
• PLC installation and troubleshooting experience preferred
• Familiarity with the National Electrical Code
• Excellent mechanical skills required
• Must pass pre-employment and regular drug testing (safety sensitive position)
• Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds regularly, and up to 75 pounds occasionally.
• Ability to stand, bend, crouch, and kneel for extended periods of time.
• Must be able to work at heights, in confined spaces, and in varying conditions (heat, cold, dust, noise).
• Must have the physical stamina to perform repetitive motions and remain on feet for most of the shift.
• Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination sufficient to operate tools accurately and safely.
