Job Role
The Electrical Engineer- New Graduate will assist in designing and implementing electrical controls and power systems for industrial refrigeration projects. This role supports project execution from concept through installation, under the guidance of senior engineers.
Key Duties
- Develop and design electrical controls and power systems
- Produce preliminary and final design drawings and documentation using CAD software
- Complete required design calculations
- Perform lighting design for industrial warehousing
- Create controls bill of materials and take-offs
- Assist with purchasing of related materials
- Ensure designs align with company procedures, regulations, and client standards
- Submit drawings to upper management and construction teams
- Provide support during the building and installation process to ensure proper implementation
- Build Bills of Materials (BOM) for each design and enter data into ERP system
- Consult with fabrication teams during manufacturing and offer assistance as needed
- Coordinate with purchasing on material orders
- Communicate with vendors regarding part specifications and fabrication
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Electrical Engineering
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering
- Ability to work both collaboratively and independently
- Proficiency in AutoCAD or other CAD software (e.g., Inventor, SolidWorks)
- Willingness to travel occasionally to jobsites (up to 25% during the first 1-2 years of training)
- This is a safety-sensitive position and requires pre-employment and regular drug testing
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position (seated or standing) for extended periods
- Occasionally may need to lift or carry items up to 25 pounds (e.g., office supplies, small equipment.
Preferences
- Strong interest in learning and growth in electrical engineering and refrigeration systems
- Prior experience in electrical design
- EIT License
- Interest in pursuing a PE license
- HVAC/MEP experience
- Experience with AutoCAD 2D/3D
