Job summary

Turner Industries is seeking Electricians to plan, install, and repair wiring, electrical fixtures and control equipment at industrial sites in the Longview, TX area. This non-exempt role reports to the Foreman and requires a Texas electrical apprenticeship license and NFPA 70e certification.

Essential qualifications include a high school diploma, 1–4 years experience, knowledge of electrician's tools, and NCCER certification where required.

Qualifications

  • High school or equivalent.
  • 1–4 years of experience in specified skill (depending on mechanic level).
  • Must have a current NFPA 70e certificate of training (2024 standard) and a Texas electrical apprenticeship license.
  • Knowledge of electrician's tools and how to use them.
  • Working on or above 600V or 69kV industrial high voltage distribution systems requires qualification.
  • Most job sites require NCCER certification for A-class Electricians.
  • Post offer drug / alcohol screen, physical evaluation, and signed acceptance of the Turner Industries Drug, Alcohol and Contraband Policy.
  • Comply with company and client job site safety requirements.
  • Must not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of others in the workplace.

Responsibilities

  • Plans layout, installs and repairs wiring, electrical fixtures and control equipment.
  • Ensure safety and compliance according to procedures; work is checked frequently.
  • Install and test distribution equipment, control panels, and wiring.
  • Perform duties per supervisor's direction and maintain quality workmanship.
  • May repair faulty equipment or systems and participate in safety programs.

Turner Industries Group, LLC has an opening for Electricians to join our team in the Longview, TX area. The Electrician position plans layout, installs and repairs wiring, electrical fixtures and control equipment. Non-exempt role; Reports to the Foreman; Assigned duties according to specific procedures / work is checked frequently.

Functional Requirements

Plans new or modified installations to minimize waste of materials, Provides access for future maintenance and avoids unsightly, hazardous, and unreliable wiring, Prepares sketches showing the location of wiring and equipment or follows diagrams or blueprints, ensuring that concealed wiring is installed before completion of future walls, ceilings, and flooring, Measures, cuts, bends, threads, assembles, and installs electrical conduit, Pulls wiring through conduit, Splices wires, Connects wiring to lighting fixtures and power equipment, Installs control and distribution apparatus, such as switches, relays, and circuit breaker panels, Connects power cables to equipment, such as electric range or motor, and installs grounding leads, Tests continuity of circuit to ensure electrical compatibility and safety of components, Observes functioning of installed equipment or system to determine hazards and need for adjustments, relocation, or replacement, May repair faulty equipment or systems, Perform additional assignments per supervisor's direction.

Compensation

Final agreed upon compensation is based upon individual qualifications and experience.

Physical Involvement

May be required to do the following: climbing ladders, scaffolds, structures, etc. above and below ground level; maintaining balance on ladders, scaffolds, structures, etc.; reaching in all directions; handling and manipulating objects and materials; coordinating the movements of eyes, hands and fingers to operate tools and equipment; lifting 30 to 50 pounds from ground level, waist level, and/or overhead; carrying objects, tools, equipment, etc.; standing / sitting; walking; pushing; pulling; bending; kneeling; crouching/squatting; seeing with or without correction; hearing with or without correction; wearing respirator and other PPE; stepstool use; work in excessive heat; work in excessive cold; work in loud environment
