Job summary

Turner Industries Group seeks a Journeyman Pipefitter for nested maintenance work at multiple sites in the Pasadena, TX area. The role involves laying out, fabricating, assembling and maintaining piping systems for industrial processes and HVAC systems.

Qualified candidates will typically have 4 years of pipefitting experience and NCCER preferred; background checks, drug testing and craft tests are required. This is long-term, local work with safety and client-site orientation emphasized.

Qualifications

• 4 years of experience in pipefitting.
• Written pre-employment qualification test.
• Post-offer drug/alcohol screen and physical evaluation.
• Hazard Communication orientation/test.
• Turner Industries indoctrination and safety training as required.
• OSHA safety requirements and PPE.

Responsibilities

• Lay out, fabricate, assemble, install and maintain piping systems and equipment.
• Select pipe size and type, inspect work sites for obstructions and structural integrity.
• Cut, thread and bend pipe; install fittings; join with threaded, caulked, soldered, brazed, fused or cemented joints.
• Install and maintain refrigeration and air-conditioning piping and related components; test piping for leaks.

Turner Industries Group is seeking a Journeyman Pipefitter for Nested Maintenance Work at several sites in the Pasadena, TX area. Qualified candidates are encouraged to submit a resume or walk in at our Pasadena Personnel office.

• No per diem available, ideal for local candidates.
• This is long-term nested maintenance work.
• 40-50 hours per week, overtime and call outs as needed
• NCCER preferred, fabrication skills a plus
• Background check and drug test required
• Must be able to pass craft test and safety council courses in English

General Job Description:

Lays out, fabricates, assembles, installs and maintains piping and piping systems, fixtures and

equipment for steam, hot water, heating, cooling, lubricating, sprinkling and industrial processing

systems.

Functional Requirements:

Selects size and type of pipe and related material according to job specifications; inspects work sites

to determine presence of obstructions and to ascertain that holes will not cause structural weakness;

plans sequence of installation to avoid obstructions and activities of other construction workers;

cuts, threads and bends pipe; assembles and installs a variety of metal and nonmetal pipe fittings,

including those made of brass, copper, lead, glass and plastic; joins pipe by means of threaded,

caulked, soldered, brazed, fused or cemented joints; secures pipe to structure with clamps, brackets

and hangers; installs and maintains refrigeration and air-conditioning systems including compressors,

pumps, meters, pneumatic and hydraulic controls and piping; test piping system for leaks.

Qualification Standards:

• (4) years of experience in specified skill (depending on mechanic level)
• Written pre-employment qualification test
• Post-offer drug/alcohol screen and physical evaluation
• Hazard Communication orientation/test
• Turner Industries Group, LLC indoctrination
• OSHA approved corrective eyewear (Z87)
• Job site orientation
• Job site safety requirements as required (clean shaven, long sleeves, steel toe boots, etc.)
• Safety equipment as required by the client (hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, respirator, hearing protection, safety harness with lanyard, etc.)
