Job summary

Turner Industries is seeking an Electrician in the Piedmont, SC area. The role plans, installs and repairs wiring, fixtures and control equipment in industrial settings.

It is a non-exempt, full-time position reporting to the Foreman, with duties assigned per procedures and regular safety requirements. Essential qualifications include a high school diploma (or equivalent), 1–4 years of experience, and NCCER certification for A-class electricians.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1–4 years of experience in the specified skill depending on level.
• Knowledge of electrician's tools and how to use them.
• Working on or above 600V/69kV requires qualification.
• Most sites require NCCER certification for A-class electricians.
• Post offer drug/alcohol screen and safety policy acceptance.
• Comply with site safety requirements and health/safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Plan new or modified installations to minimize waste of materials.
• Provide access for future maintenance and avoid unsafe wiring.
• Prepare sketches or read diagrams/blueprints for wiring placements.
• Install electrical conduit and wiring, test circuits for safety.
• Install control/distribution equipment and connect power to machinery.
• Relate to supervisor duties and perform assignments as directed.

We have an opening for an Electrician to join our team in the Piedmont, SC area. The Electrician position plans layout, installs and repairs wiring, electrical fixtures and control equipment. Non-exempt role; Reports to the Foreman; Assigned duties according to specific procedures / work is checked frequently.

Essential Qualifications

• High school or equivalent
• One (1) to four (4) years of experience in specified skill (depending on mechanic level)
• Knowledge of electrician's tools and how to use them
• Working on or above 600V or 69kV industrial high voltage distribution systems requires qualification
• Most job sites require NCCER certification for A-class Electricians
• Post offer drug / alcohol screen, physical evaluation, and signed acceptance of the Turner Industries Drug, Alcohol and Contraband Policy
• Comply with company and client job site safety requirements
• Must not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of others in the workplace

Functional Requirements

Plans new or modified installations to minimize waste of materials, Provides access for future maintenance and avoids unsightly, hazardous, and unreliable wiring, Prepares sketches showing the location of wiring and equipment or follows diagrams or blueprints, ensuring that concealed wiring is installed before completion of future walls, ceilings, and flooring, Measures, cuts, bends, threads, assembles, and installs electrical conduit, Pulls wiring through conduit, Splices wires, Connects wiring to lighting fixtures and power equipment, Installs control and distribution apparatus, such as switches, relays, and circuit breaker panels, Connects power cables to equipment, such as electric range or motor, and installs grounding leads, Tests continuity of circuit to ensure electrical compatibility and safety of components, Observes functioning of installed equipment or system to determine hazards and need for adjustments, relocation, or replacement, May repair faulty equipment or systems, Perform additional assignments per supervisor's direction.

Physical Involvement
