Job summary

Kronospan in La Grande, Oregon is seeking an experienced electrician to perform repairs, preventive/predictive maintenance, testing, and process improvements on electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems. Overtime and shift coverage may be required to keep operations running smoothly.

The role relies on knowledge of electrical and mechanical principles to troubleshoot malfunctions and restore operation.

Qualifications

  • Journeyman Electrician's license is required.
  • Excellent attendance record and strong work ethic.
  • Problem-solving mindset for manufacturing settings.
  • Advanced experience with power tools, measuring devices and hand tools.
  • Experience with preventive maintenance procedures.
  • Ability to work with others to solve complex problems.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Lift up to 50 lbs unassisted.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical, architectural and mechanical diagrams.
  • Experience diagnosing and repairing electrical and mechanical systems.

Responsibilities

  • Perform repairs and preventive/predictive maintenance on electrical, mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic equipment.
  • Test, troubleshoot and improve processes to restore and enhance operation.
  • Fill in for shift absences and work overtime as needed.

Job Description

The purpose of the electrician's position is to perform repairs, preventive/predictive maintenance, testing, and process improvements on all mechanical, electrical, electronic, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment and systems. The electrician must rely on their knowledge of electrical and mechanical principles to troubleshoot malfunctions in equipment and systems and to repair and restore operation. The associate in this position will be expected to work overtime as needed and to fill in for absences on shift as needed. This position is located in La Grande, Oregon.

Qualifications
  • Journeyman Electrician's license.
  • Excellent attendance record.
  • Demonstrated high energy level, strong work ethic, and positive approach to problem solving.
  • Advanced experience using power tools, measuring devices, and other hand tools.
  • Experience in performing advanced preventive maintenance procedures.
  • The ability to work with others in identifying and solving complex manufacturing problems.
  • The ability to work independently with little or no direct supervision.
  • The ability to lift up to 50 lbs. unassisted.
  • Advanced knowledge of electrical, architectural, and mechanical diagrams, drawings, and specifications.
  • Advanced knowledge of procedures to test for, locate, and repair electrical malfunctions.
  • Experience in diagnosing and repairing mechanical, hydraulic, HVAC, electrical (incl. power supplies, motor drives, & transformers), electronic (incl. programmable and numeral controls), and pneumatic equipment and systems.
  • Thorough knowledge of electrical/electronic and mechanical principles.
