Job summary

Gilchrist Forest Products in Gilchrist, OR is seeking an Oregon Licensed Electrician to maintain and repair electrical systems and mechanical equipment in an industrial setting. The candidate will read schematics, support production start-up, and perform preventative maintenance on pumps, compressors, PLCs, and hydraulic systems.

Qualifications

• Qualified applicants MUST have at minimum a Limited Maintenance Electrician (LME) license and be a journeyman electrician.
• 6+ months of manufacturing maintenance experience required
• 1+ year of maintenance experience required
• Must be able to read and comprehends basic blueprints and mechanical drawings
• Must be able to read and understand test meters
• Must possess basic understanding of maintenance of boilers, air compressors, and hydraulic systems
• Basic knowledge of basic math skills is required
• Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively

Responsibilities

• Read schematics/diagrams and follow electrical preventative maintenance programs
• Maintain and repair automated equipment, hydraulic equipment, compressors, PLC, pumps, etc.
• Troubleshoot and repair both mechanical and electrical issues
• Maintain lighting inside and outside of mill
• Ensure equipment is ready for production start-up
• Repair worn out or damaged equipment
• Perform equipment modification and fabrication
• Assist production when needed
• Follow all safety rules and practices
• Perform work techniques, speeds, and efficiencies at company standards
• Perform preventative maintenance procedures for equipment
• Lubricate equipment with understanding of device requirements
• Perform all other work as required

Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Oregon Licensed Electrician to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in electrical and mechanical systems, with experience in industrial settings. The Electrician will be responsible for maintaining and repairing electrical systems and mechanical equipment while collaborating effectively with other members of the team.

Essential Duties

• Ability to read schematics/diagrams, as well as follow electrical preventative maintenance programs
• Maintain and repair automated equipment, hydraulic equipment, compressors, PLC, pumps, etc.
