Position Summary

The Electrician position is responsible for the electro‑mechanical installation, assembly, and integration of subassemblies for a variety of products. This role will build, route, install, and assemble electrical and electro‑mechanical components using a variety of hand tools, power tools, and specialized equipment. The position requires the ability to interpret drawings, schematics, and work instructions while ensuring assemblies are completed accurately and meet established quality and workmanship standards.

Responsibilities

• Follows diagrams or blueprints, ensuring wiring is installed correctly in the unit
• Crimps, cuts, and routes wiring within the unit
• Splicing, soldering, terminating of single and multicore wires
• Experience with electrical control panel assembly and troubleshooting
• Experience with aircraft/military style connectors and harnesses
• Connects power cables to equipment, such as control panels, pneumatic and hydraulic systems, or diesel motor, and installs grounding leads
• Tests continuity of circuit to ensure electrical compatibility and safety of components, using testing instruments, such as ohmmeter, battery and buzzer, and oscilloscope
• Observes the functioning of installed equipment or system to detect hazards and need for adjustments, relocation, or replacement
• May repair faulty equipment or systems
• Adhere to NEC and IEC standards for proper building/installation of wires
• Performs other related duties as assigned

Skills & Competencies

Must be a U.S. citizen

• Ability to read schematics, drawings, and work instructions
• Extensive knowledge of electrical systems and wiring
• Ability to use hand and power tools
• Proficient in the use of test meters and other diagnostic equipment
• Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills
• Certified Soldering Certification a plus
• Electrical Termination Certification (IPC/WHMA-A-620) a plus

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Associate’s degree or Certificate in Electrical Technology a plus
• Completion of a formal apprenticeship and valid electrician’s license a plus

Physical Requirements

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, sit for extended periods of time, and reach with hands and arms
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include ability to adjust focus
• Must be able to see color to discern color‑coded wiring
• Prolonged periods standing, kneeling, bending, and climbing ladders
• Must be physically capable of pulling wires and cables through conduits
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time
