Job summary

Judge Group, Inc. is seeking an Electrical System Design Engineer for Huntsville, Alabama. The role focuses on system level electrical architecture, block diagrams, and hardware design verification to support aerospace/military hardware.

The ideal candidate has a ABET-accredited EE/CE degree and 4+ years of hardware design experience, with strong problem solving and team collaboration skills. On-site position with competitive hourly pay.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering from ABET-accredited institution.
• 4+ years of hardware system design and test experience from architecture to implementation.

Job description

Location: Redstone Arsenal, AL Salary: $80.00 USD Hourly – $82.00 USD Hourly Description: Our client is currently seeking a Electrical System Design Engineer

Title: Electrical System Design Engineer

Location: Huntsville, AL

Primary Responsibilities:

• System level electrical architecture and design
• Creation of block diagrams, electrical system requirements, cable specifications, and cable drawings
• Component selection and derating activities
• New hardware design verification testing
• Support system level integration activities

Basic Qualifications:

• Candidate must possess a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or equivalent degree from an ABET-accredited institution.
• Candidate must have 4 years of experience in hardware system design and test from architecture through implementation
• Candidate must have experience with technical problem solving and root cause analysis
• Candidate must be capable of performing in a collaborative engineering environment working closely with multi-disciplinary teams.
• Candidate must have demonstrated experience effectively communicating within a team environment
• Candidate must have the ability to interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and system block diagrams.
• Candidate must have cable design experience
• Candidate must have proven understanding of fundamental circuits and circuit components
• Candidate must have hands-on laboratory experience with instrumentation, test equipment, and debug/test methods.
• Candidate must be a self-starter with the ability to work independently
• Candidates must be a resident of the North Alabama area or willing to relocate to the Huntsville – North Alabama, AL area.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with leading small to mid-sized technical teams.
• Familiarity with IPC/WHMA-A-620 class 3 and IPC J-STD-001 Standards.
• Electrical design for military hardware or aerospace systems
• Experience supporting cable production
• Experience with high power applications
• Familiarity with AS50881 NASA Derating Standard
• Cable design experience using SolidWorks Electrical, Creo Schematic, Draftsight, or Microsoft Visio
• Experience with special test equipment design/architecture to facilitate production testing of MIL rated components.
• Experience designing high-power AC electrical distribution systems including generators, UPS systems, transformers, circuit protection, and custom control panels
