Job summary

Redwire Defense Tech in Huntsville, AL is seeking an Electronics Technician to join the production team. Under moderate supervision, you will build assemblies, solder wires into connectors, and verify that components meet quality standards.

You will work with common shop tools, document travelers, track lot/serial data, and support teammates in a fast-paced environment. A high school diploma and soldering/hand crimping experience in a production setting are preferred.

• 0-1 year soldering and/or hand crimping experience.
• Experience in a production setting.

Responsibilities

• Manufacturing and assembling cables and wire harnesses, soldering wires into connectors and crimping terminals.
• Test and function check completed assemblies.
• Fill travelers and document component progress with lot/serial tracking.
• Regular use of soldering iron, wire cutters, stripers, crimpers, and Windows PC.
• Communicate challenges with management and teammates.
• Take on additional responsibilities as assigned.

SALARY RANGE: The anticipated salary range for this role is $20.00 to $28.00 per hour. This range reflects a good faith estimate based on the targeted level for the role and typical compensation benchmarks across U.S. locations. Actual compensation may vary depending on the selected candidate’s qualifications, experience, geographical location, and internal alignment.

Summary

The Electronics Technician is an integral part of our production team. Under moderate supervision, the Electronics Technician builds assemblies within established timeframes and to document specification, ensuring that all work and components meet rigorous quality standards. The Electronics Technician displays keen attention to detail and supports others in the shop and throughout the company, both technically and as teammates.

Responsibilities

The following job functions are a basic requirement but are not limited to and may be assigned other duties.

• Manufacturing and assembling cables and wire harnesses, by soldering wires into connectors (cup soldering) and crimping various terminals to populate into housings
• Testing and function checking completed assemblies
• Filling out travelers and documenting components’ progress through the shop and handling Lot/Serial tracking for product traceability
• Regular use of the following tools: soldering iron, wire cutter/stripper/crimper, Windows PC, etc.
• Communicate, discuss and listen to challenges with management, teammates, etc.
• Assumes all other responsibilities as assigned

Required Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED
• 0-1 years of experience soldering and/or hand crimping
• Experience in a production setting

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with cup soldering and JST/Molex crimping
• IPC 620 certification or similar
• Familiarity with electronics
• Familiar with AS9100 standards
• Familiarity using a microscope

Work Environment And Physical Requirements

The work environment may involve a standard office setting while also incorporating elements of a production area. Employees will use standard office equipment, including computers, and must demonstrate stamina to sit or stand while maintaining attention to detail despite potential interruptions. The role may require occasional activities such as walking, climbing, stooping, crouching, and bending. Vision is necessary for reading printed materials and a computer screen, while hearing and speech are essential for effective communication both in person and over the telephone. Additionally, the position may necessitate travel by air or automobile. Employees may be required to use personal protective equipment, including safety glasses, safety shoes, and shop coats, to ensure safety in the production environment. Employees may be able to lift up to 30 pounds as needed.
