Responsibilities

  • Analyze operation of various systems and determine causes of malfunctions; take corrective action.
  • Assist with installation and repair of piping/tubing; wire motors; run conduit; pull wiring to machinery and operating parts.
  • Check, repair, or replace valves, motors, controls, switches, gauges, wiring, fans, pumps, compressors, condensers, cores, pipes and other components.
  • Perform all work per established safety procedures and OSHA/local requirements.
  • Report accidents and injuries promptly and participate in safety meetings and training.
  • Attend designated training programs and perform other duties as assigned; teamwork required.
  • Work may include general facility tasks beyond electrical work as directed.

Job description

Essential Functions:
  • Requires the ability to analyze the operation of various systems, determine the cause of any problems/malfunctions and take corrective action as required.
  • Assist with the installation and repair piping/tubing; wire single and three phase motors (single & two speed); run conduit; pull wiring to machinery, motors, operating parts, etc.
  • Checks, repairs and/or replaces valves, motors, controls, switches, gauges, wiring, fans, pumps, compressors, condensers, cores, pipes and other functional components of the system.
  • Performs all work in accordance with established safety procedures.
  • Complies with all company safety and risk management policies and procedures.
  • Reports all accidents and injuries in a timely manner.
  • Participates in regular safety meetings, safety training and hazard
  • Applies all applicable OSHA and related local safety requirements to all assigned work.
  • Performs all work in accordance with established safety procedures.
  • Attends training programs (classroom and virtual) as designated.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
  • Work will not be dedicated to just electrical work. Other work to include general facility tasks will be assigned by a supervisor or designee as needed.
  • Teamwork is a must, must be willing to work is small teams.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
  • Must be able to sit, stand or walk for long periods of time (4 hours).
  • Must be able to respond calmly and make rational decisions when handling employee conflicts.
  • Must be able to maneuver throughout all areas of the property and from floor to floor either by stairways (minimum of 20 steps) or escalator.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.; and, have the ability to push, pull, reach, bend, twist, stoop and kneel.
  • Respond to visual and aural cues.
  • Must have the manual dexterity to operate a computer and other necessary office equipment.
  • Must be able to tolerate areas containing dust, loud noises and bright lights.
  • Must be able to work varied shifts, weekends and holidays as needed.
  • Ability to simultaneously manage several projects, and not be frustrated by changing priorities and unforeseen obstacles to achieving objectives.
  • Ability to speak distinctly and persuasively.
  • Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English.
Education and Experience:
  • High school diploma or equivalency certificate is required.
  • 2 Years previous electrical maintenance work and building trades experience is required.
  • Certification required.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Mechanical skills are essential.
