Job summary

United States Space Force in Colorado is seeking an Electrical Trades Specialist to install, repair, and test electrical systems in test cell facilities supporting national defense programs. Responsibilities

• Installs, repairs or replaces, modifies, loads, and tests electrical lines, circuits, systems, fixtures, panels, switches, breakers, and controls located in and near installation buildings and structures associated with test cell facilities in direct support of National Defense programs and equipment.
• Maintains and installs secondary switch gear, UPS, PLCs, systems and batteries, distribution lines, 2000 kVA and larger electrical load centers providing technical and utility power; troubleshoots problem areas and faulty wiring.
• Works from building plans, blueprints, wiring diagrams, engineering drawings, and manuals to determine necessary repairs or replacements; uses hand and power tools including screwdrivers, pliers, wire cutters, soldering irons, cable pullers, hydraulic benders, and pipe threading machines.
• Adheres to safety practices and procedures, maintaining a safe and clean work environment.

Key Responsibilities

Installs, repairs or replaces, modifies, loads, and tests new and existing electrical lines, circuits,systems, fixtures,panels, switches, breakers, and controls located in and near installation buildings and structures associated with test cell facilities in direct support of National Defense programs and equipment.

Maintains and installs secondary switch gear, Uninterruptible Power Source (UPS), Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC's) Systems and associated batteries, distribution lines, 2000 kVA (Kilo Volt Amperes) and larger electrical load centers providing technical and utility power. Troubleshoots problem areas and specialized equipment test cells by inspecting for defective equipment and faulty wiring.

Works from building plans, blueprints, wiring diagrams, engineering drawings, and maintenance and repair manuals to determine the necessary and proper repairs and/or replacements. Uses and maintains various types of hand and/or power tools, such as screwdrivers, pliers, wire cutters, soldering irons, cable pullers, hydraulic benders, and pipe threading machines.

Utilizes safety practices and procedures following established safety rules and regulations and maintains a safe and clean work environment.
