Job summary

Air Force Civilian Service in Colorado Springs seeks an Electrician Supervisor for the 50th Civil Engineer Squadron at Schriever Space Force Base to lead the Electrical Shop and oversee installation, repair, troubleshooting, and maintenance of critical electrical systems.

You will plan and execute projects, supervise personnel, ensure safety and EEO practices, and perform performance evaluations to support U.S. Space Force missions while mentoring staff.

Qualifications

• U.S. Citizenship is required.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Security Clearance (Tier 3 / SF-86).
• Must pass initial and periodic drug testing (Testing Designated Position).
• A valid state driver’s license is required to operate motor vehicles on and off-base.
• Must maintain active CPR qualifications.
• Willingness to work rotating shifts, evenings, weekends, holidays, and recall overtime.

Job description

Lead a team of highly skilled technicians keeping vital space operations powered. As the Electrician Supervisor for the 50th Civil Engineer Squadron at Schriever Space Force Base, you will run the Electrical Shop, serving as the pivotal force behind the installation, repair, troubleshooting, and maintenance of critical electrical systems, controls, and equipment. You will lead, plan, and execute work projects that directly support the U.S. Space Force's global missions. The position is responsible for exercising technical and administrative supervision over subordinate trades and labor workers; planning and scheduling daily or project-based work; directing technical activities in the electrical shop; and managing administrative responsibilities including performance evaluations, EEO practices, and safety compliance. Additionally, you will play a key role in ensuring a safe, secure, and harassment-free work environment for your team.

Salary Range is $28.70 - $33.48 per hour based on experience.

Requirements For This Position

• Ability to obtain and maintain a Security Clearance (Tier 3 / SF-86, Non-Critical Sensitive)
• Must pass initial and periodic short-notice drug testing (Testing Designated Position under the Air Force Civilian Drug Demand Reduction Program)
• A valid state driver’s license is required to operate motor vehicles on and off-base
• Must maintain active qualifications in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR)
• Willingness and ability to work rotating shifts, evenings, weekends, holidays, and be subject to recall/emergency overtime as required

RECRUITMENT KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES (KSA’s)

• Professional knowledge of a wide range of principles, processes, and techniques of the electrical trade, as well as personnel management policies, practices, and procedures (including EEO guidelines and prevention of sexual harassment).
• Comprehensive knowledge of occupational safety regulations, practices, and procedures.
• Demonstrated skill in the use, maintenance, and precision calibration of hand/power tools, equipment, and test equipment common to the electrical trade.
• Strong ability to read, interpret, and work from blueprints, diagrams, sketches, schematics, technical manuals, and technical specifications.
• Proven ability to plan, organize, and prioritize work assignments, including determining and allocating resources to accomplish the mission.
• Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, to foster collaboration, direct staff, and interface with leadership.

Preferred Experience

• Facility & Industrial Power: Direct experience maintaining, troubleshooting, and supervising commercial, industrial, or utility power distribution systems (switchgear, generators, low/medium voltage) rather than aviation-specific or electronics systems.
• National Electrical Code (NEC): Practical, hands-on experience applying NEC standards within a facility or installation environment.
