Job summary

The Weitz Company is hiring an Electrical Virtual Design & Construction Engineer to strengthen our data center team. You will design, model, and manage VDC systems, streamline workflows, and support field operations through BIM-based coordination and simulations.

Key focus areas include creating 3D/4D models, coordinating with preconstruction and field teams, and driving continuous improvement through new software adoption.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years in a construction role supporting VDC, preferably in data centers.
• Ability to read electrical design documents and schedules.
• Experience with BIM workflows, clash coordination and RFI visualization.

Responsibilities

• Prepare Electrical Shop, DFI, and DFMA drawings.
• Provide quantity takeoffs, BOMs from BIM/3D models.
• Create streamlined workflows with preconstruction and field teams.
• Assist with execute plans, takeoffs, constructability and RFI visualization.
• Lead clash resolution and coordination meetings through completion.
• Provide onsite project engineering for BIM projects and oversee field monitoring.
• Create 3D/4D models, renderings for presentations and project pursuits.
• Develop training material with L&D team and research new software/hardware.
