Job summary

PACCAR is seeking an Electrical Validation Engineer to manage validation projects for vehicle electrical components and embedded systems. You will define test requirements, design lab setups, collect data, and document results while coordinating with management, suppliers, customers, and stakeholders.

The role requires a BS in Electrical Engineering with 5+ years of experience and a strong ability to communicate findings through reports and presentations. Travel up to 10% is expected.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience validating electrical and embedded control systems.
• Knowledge of electrical circuit analysis fundamentals.
• Experience using typical electrical lab equipment (DMMs, oscilloscopes, signal generators).
• Familiarity with CAN/J1939 protocol.
• Ability to work well in a team environment and communicate effectively.
• Self-directed with strong analysis and technical judgment.
• Strong presentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Plans, coordinates, and conducts projects of moderate scope with minimal supervision.
• Analyzes project requests, discusses requirements, and formulates preliminary plans, budgets, and schedules.
• Design test fixtures and specifies instrumentation, equipment, and data requirements.
• Assembles resources required for testing and resolves resource conflicts.
• Participates in setup of tests and verifies equipment meets requirements; performs data checks.
• Participates in data collection and analysis.
• Writes reports incorporating results, conclusions, and recommendations.
• Undertakes tasks on projects of significant scope and may take responsibility for major program activities.
• Develops and improves test methodologies.
• Presents results of test or investigative projects to divisions or management personnel.
• Fosters good communications and maintains relationships with other departments.
• Travels up to 10%.
