Job summary

Haugland Group LLC is seeking an experienced safety professional for our Tampa, FL area office to support construction project teams and ensure regulatory compliance. You will lead safety initiatives, inspect sites, conduct toolbox talks, and develop plans for site safety and hazard analyses.

The role requires 5+ years in electrical utility construction safety, travel over 50%, and a relevant bachelor's degree with OSHA/DOT knowledge. Join a team focused on building tomorrow.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience with electrical utility construction safety practices.
• Travel required; over 50% travel expected.
• Bachelor's degree in safety, Construction Management or related field.
• Knowledge of DOT and FMCSA regulations.
• Experience in human performance and error reduction.
• OSHA 10 T&D, OSHA 30, OSHA 500 certifications.

Responsibilities

• Provide safety support to project teams and sites.
• Conduct frequent safety inspections and audits at multiple job sites.
• Lead weekly toolbox talks with employees and subcontractors.
• Assist in developing site health and safety plans and job hazard analyses.
• Investigate near misses, injuries, accidents and property damage.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state and local laws and regulations.
• Interact with project managers and workers to correct unsafe conditions.
• Identify loss-producing conditions and recommend corrective actions.
• Observe tasks to provide safety support and ensure safe practices.
