Job summary

HBK Engineering, LLC is seeking a Designer for our Ontario, CA office to deliver electrical utility designs. The ideal candidate has SPDP training or 1+ year experience in distribution/transmission design, with GIS/WMIS exposure and proficiency in AutoCAD or MicroStation.

The role requires managing multiple projects, adherence to standards, and collaboration within a fast-paced team. Some travel to service areas in California may be required.

Qualifications

• SPDP graduate or 1+ year experience in electrical utility design.
• Experience with GIS and WMIS programs is a strong plus.
• Proficiency in Excel, Word, and Outlook.
• Ability to travel up to 30%.

Responsibilities

• Design and engineering for Lighting, UG, and OH utility systems.
• Manage multiple concurrent projects from small to large scale with adherence to standards and deadlines.
• Use GIS and planning databases to generate accurate reports, calculations, and drawings.
• Mentor peers in a fast-paced team environment.
• Ensure compliance with published standards and regulations.
• Produce thorough technical reports, calculations, drawings and sketches.
• Travel up to 30% to service territory including remote regions.
