Job summary

HBK Engineering, LLC in Ontario, CA is seeking a Designer to deliver electrical utility design and engineering services across multiple projects, while mentoring teammates in a collaborative, fast-paced office.

The ideal candidate will have SPDP or 1+ year experience in distribution design, GIS usage, and proficiency with SPIDA or O-Calc, AutoCAD/AUD, or MicroStation; travel up to 30% across the SCE territory; and strong written and verbal communication and teamwork.

Qualifications

• Graduate of SPDP or 1+ year in Electrical Utility Distribution/Transmission Design.
• Experience with GIS, planning databases, and reporting.
• Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
• Able to travel up to 30% for field work and site visits.
• Strong written and verbal communication and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Design and construction knowledge for Lighting, UG, and OH utility systems.
• Manage multiple projects from single units to large complexes with deadlines.
• Utilize GIS and planning databases to generate technical reports and drawings.
• Provide mentorship in a collaborative team environment.
• Prepare accurate calculations, drawings and sketches.
• Maintain compliance with standards and regulations.
