Job summary

ENGIE North America Inc. is seeking an Electrical Utilities Student Intern to support the University of Iowa campus distribution systems.

You will assist with data collection, studies, and equipment inventories while gaining exposure to utility operations and capital projects. You will work with the onsite distribution team and planning staff, handling assignments with AutoCAD, SEL software, CMMS, and ArcGIS as needed.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Current enrollment at the University of Iowa.
• Interest in electrical power, electric utilities, renewable energy, or power-distribution systems.
• Ability to manage multiple technical or data-related assignments with timelines.
• Willingness to learn engineering software and data-management tools used in utility operations.

Responsibilities

• Support electrical distribution studies, data collection, modeling, sampling, and light maintenance.
• Identify maintenance needs and coordinate with Utilities Distribution Planner to develop corrective work orders.
• Develop and maintain technical analyses, records, spreadsheets, and equipment inventory databases.
