Job summary

Power Design is seeking an electrical trainee to start a hands-on career in construction. You will be paired with a licensed journeyman and gain on-the-job training to become an electrician on multifamily and commercial projects.

This role offers a clear path to certification, with classes and ongoing training. A high school diploma or GED and reliable transportation are required, along with a commitment to safety and Power Design’s values.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with electrical installations on multifamily and commercial construction.
  • Learn and perform all scopes of large-scale projects, from distribution to rough-in and deck work.
  • Participate in official training programs and attend classes as required.
  • Work alongside a licensed journeyman electrician on OJT to become an electrician.

About the Position

Electrical trainees are able to earn a paycheck while learning the trade through firsthand experience. This position has a clear career path to becoming an electrician with the potential and opportunity to become a manager of a team and larger scope of work.

Position Responsibilities
  • The electrical trainee is partnered with a licensed journeyman electrician and has on-the-job training (OJT) to become an electrician.
  • You’ll help perform electrical installations on new multifamily and commercial construction projects.
  • Learn and perform all scopes of large-scale projects, from distribution to rough in, trim and deck work.
  • Participate in official training program and attend classes as required.
Here’s What We’re Looking For
  • Motivated individuals who want to learn the electrical trade and have a high school diploma or GED as well as reliable transportation.
  • Successfully register, enroll and participate in an electrical trainee program (and remain in good standing) until program is completed.
  • Must be able to obtain an electrical trainee card and physically perform the essential functions of the job.
  • Willing to learn electrical codes and other construction safety requirements.
