Job summary

Power Design is seeking an Electrical Trainee in California to join our hands-on team. You’ll work under seasoned Electrical Foremen on installations, testing, and maintenance of electrical systems on exciting projects.

The role emphasizes training, safety, and NEC/compliance with local codes. Candidates should have 3+ years as an Electrician; OSHA 30 preferred. Pay ranges from $18 to $43 per hour, with a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience as an Electrician.
  • Proficient knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC).
  • OSHA 30 certification preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble, install, test, and maintain electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures using hand and power tools.
  • Diagnose malfunctioning systems and locate causes of breakdowns with testing equipment.
  • Connect wires to circuit breakers, transformers, or other components.
  • Inspect electrical systems and ensure compliance with codes and safety standards.
  • Advise management on potential hazards of continued equipment operation.
  • Maintain current Electrician’s License or ID to meet government regulations.
  • Support Superintendents and Electrical Foremen to ensure jobsite safety.

About The Position

Looking for a new role in the electrical world? We’re searching for an ambitious Electrical Trainee to join our growing team! Power Design is all about hands-on training and collaboration, and with the mentorship of our seasoned Electrical Foremen, this position be deeply involved in the installation of electrical systems on our exciting new projects.

Position Responsibilities
  • Assemble, install, test, and maintain electrical or electronic wiring, equipment, appliances, apparatus, and fixtures using hand tools and power tools
  • Diagnose malfunctioning systems, apparatuses, and components using testing equipment and hand tools to locate the cause of the breakdown and correct the problem
  • Connect wires to circuit breakers, transformers, or other components
  • Inspect electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair, as well as ensure compliance with codes
  • Advise management on whether continued operation of equipment could be hazardous
  • Maintain current Electrician’s License or identification card to meet governmental regulations
  • Support Superintendents and Electrical Foremen to ensure jobsite safety and security
Here’s What We’re Looking For
  • OSHA 30 certification preferred
  • 3+ years of experience as an Electrician
  • Proficient knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC), local codes, and construction safety requirements
  • Pay range is $18.00 - $43.00 an hour
