Electrical Testing Technician - Pittman Power

Join Pittman Power as an Electrical Testing Technician, focusing on electrical apparatus testing at various customer sites. This role requires significant technical expertise, a strong safety focus, and excellent customer service skills. Field Duties

1. Read and interpret electrical diagrams, including One-Line Drawings and Arc Flash Drawings.
2. Inspect and test electrical components such as transformers, circuit breakers, and substation apparatus.
3. Operate industry-leading testing equipment.
4. Draft comprehensive testing reports.
5. Identify electrical issues using various testing devices.
6. Perform repairs or replacements of wiring, equipment, or fixtures using hand tools, power tools, aerial lifts, and platforms.
7. Conduct on-site scope reviews and provide technical input on execution techniques.
8. Mentor new technicians on safe work practices and testing procedures (preferred).

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in Electrical Power & Controls (EPC) from an accredited 2-year technical college or EE Degree from an ABET-accredited college; military experience (Army Prime Power, Air Force Electrical Power Production, NAVY Seabee) considered equivalent.
• NETA/NICET Certification or Electrician license preferred.
• At least 3 years of relevant electrical testing and troubleshooting experience.
• Proficiency in computer skills including email, internet, data entry, and Microsoft Excel; PowerDB experience is a plus.
• Ability to work safely following all electrical safety procedures.
• Preferred certifications: OSHA 10/30 hour, MSHA, NFPA 70E, CPR/First Aid/BBP/AED (training can be provided).
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; ability to travel locally and regionally, including periodic overnight stays.

Other Requirements

• Pass pre-employment and periodic drug tests.
• Pass criminal background checks.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, overtime, and occasional weekends, holidays, and nights.
• Willingness to travel at least 50% of the time.
