Job summary

Siemens Energy in Charlotte, NC seeks a hands-on Generator Test Technician to perform electrical tests on complete generators, including stators, rotors, and excitation systems, following established procedures. Qualifications

• Internal Electrical Tester examination completed.
• Associate’s degree or vocational certificate in Electrical Technology or related field preferred.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in electrical work or testing.
• Knowledge of safety standards, data entry, troubleshooting and quality control.
• Authorized to work in the United States without current or future employer-sponsored work authorization.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive electrical tests on generators (stators, rotors, excitation) per specs.
• Monitor, interpret, and document test results using computer systems.
• Identify non-conformities or failures during testing.
• Maintain daily production and testing records for performance analysis.
• Set up testing apparatus and balance facility for rotor/exciter balancing.
• Support heavy crane moves to transport and position large components.
