Job summary

Hitachi Energy USA INC invites you to join our Mount Pleasant, PA facility as an Electrical Test Technician for the 3rd shift. You will perform electrical tests on transformers, switchgear, and power system components, applying rigorous quality standards to ensure safety and reliability of critical equipment.

Collaborating with engineering and manufacturing teams, you will analyze test data, troubleshoot issues, calibrate instruments such as multimeters and oscilloscopes, and document findings

Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree in Electrical Engineering Technology or related field or equivalent.
  • 2-4 years of electrical testing experience.
  • Ability to read electrical schematics, blueprints, and drawings.
  • Experience with electrical testing equipment such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, hipot testers, and power quality analyzers.
  • Strong troubleshooting, communication, teamwork; ability to work 3rd shift.

Responsibilities

  • Execute electrical tests on transformers, switchgear, and other power system components.
  • Interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, blueprints, and technical specifications to support testing and troubleshooting activities.
  • Operate and maintain electrical testing equipment including multimeters, oscilloscopes, hipot testers, and power analyzers.
  • Analyze and document test results, ensuring accurate recording of findings and identification of performance deviations.
  • Investigate test failures through root cause analysis and partner with engineering and manufacturing teams to implement corrective actions.
  • Calibrate and verify testing equipment to ensure measurement accuracy and compliance.
  • Support quality objectives by maintaining testing standards and contributing to continuous improvement efforts.

How You’ll Make an Impact

Your Background
  • Associate’s degree in Electrical Engineering Technology or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

  • 2-4 years of experience in electrical testing, preferably in a manufacturing environment supporting power distribution equipment.

  • Strong understanding of electrical principles, circuits, and power system components.

  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical drawings.

  • Experience with electrical testing equipment such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, hipot testers, and power quality analyzers.

  • Strong troubleshooting, communication, teamwork, and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to work independently during a 3rd shift schedule.
