Job summary

Eaton in Santa Ana, CA is seeking an Electrical Test Technician for the 1st shift to test and modify electrical equipment post-production and ensure proper functionality before shipment.

Responsibilities include conducting system tests, troubleshooting at the component level, and documenting test results. Candidate should have a High School diploma and relevant electrical testing experience; 40-hour week with potential overtime and benefits from day one.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required from an accredited educational institution.
• 2 years of experience in electrical test or related electronic technologies field, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship.
• Relocation assistance is not available; candidates in the immediate geographical area (50 mile radius) will be considered.

Responsibilities

• Perform system tests, including IR and dielectric testing, and complete written test reports, logs and records.
• Troubleshoot AC/DC circuitry and printed circuit assemblies to the component level.
• Assemble, set-up programs and perform functional tests on circuit boards.
• Organize work by receiving work requests; study wiring diagrams, drawings, and specifications.
• Testing systems and electrical components; determine cause of problems and requirements to solve problems.
• Use test equipment including digital meter, current meter, out of phase transformer, variac transformer, resistive load bank, hi-pot tester, current clamp, computer, and infrared camera.
• Maintain safe work environment by following standards and procedures; complying with legal regulations and codes
