Job summary

General Motors in Warren, MI seeks an Electrical Test Systems Engineer to lead development and deployment of manufacturing test equipment validating vehicle electrical systems. You will work with engineering, suppliers, and plant teams to ensure reliable, scalable test solutions across GM’s network.

The role supports 50% travel domestically and internationally, onsite at the Warren Tech Center, with relocation benefits available to suitable candidates.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience with electrical hardware, manufacturing equipment, test systems, automation, or vehicle electrical architectures.
• Experience developing, integrating, commissioning, or supporting manufacturing test equipment.
• Strong understanding of electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, troubleshooting, and hardware integration.
• Experience with electrical testing, diagnostics, validation, or manufacturing quality systems.
• Ability to identify root causes, troubleshoot issues, and implement corrective actions in production.

Responsibilities

• Lead development and deployment of electrical test systems for manufacturing operations.
• Define equipment requirements, validation plans, and specs for test systems.
• Coordinate integration of electrical hardware, software, and equipment.
• Oversee installation, commissioning, and validation of test equipment in production.
• Drive resolution of complex issues affecting test systems and production performance.
• Collaborate with suppliers, plants, quality and engineering for implementation.
• Support improvements targeting defect detection and EFTQ.
