Job summary

General Motors in Milford, Michigan is seeking a Software Test Engineer to join the Testing and Deployment team. The role uses BDD to create and automate tests across hardware and simulation environments, supporting high voltage battery software for GM’s EV portfolio.

You’ll work with Controls, Software, Calibration, and other test engineers to identify issues, develop solutions, and ensure end-to-end delivery of tests. This hybrid position reports to Milford and requires travel <25%.

Qualifications

BS in Electrical/Computer/Software Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
2+ years of demonstrated work experience in test/automation or related area.
Experience with Behavior Driven Development (BDD) and familiarity with Gherkin.
Proficient in Python programming language.
Experience with GitHub, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Jira and other CM and QA tools.
Strong written and oral communication skills.
Valid US Driver License.

Responsibilities

Create, modify, maintain, and execute test plans at solution, system, or feature level.
Develop automated test cases using Cosim, Autobot, and related tools.
Organize, plan, and coordinate testing activities with the Scrum Team.
Automate tests in SIL/HIL/vehicle environments.
Diagnose and correct vehicle, system, and controls deficiencies.
Document test results and failures via PRTS, Jira, etc.
Support program reviews and demos; participate in development trips as needed.
