Job summary

SpaceX is seeking an Electrical Test Engineer (Starshield) in Hawthorne, CA to design and develop test systems for satellite electronics, optics, RF and electro-mechanical hardware. You’ll craft solutions from the ground up and ensure safety and reliability of spacecraft hardware through data-driven decisions.

You will write Python automation, work with engineers and test labs, and help drive innovations to improve product yield and test coverage while meeting mission milestones and security

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer engineering, electrical engineering, or an engineering discipline with an emphasis in electrical engineering and electronics.
• 1+ years of experience with electronic hardware development or software development (academic projects, internships, or professional work).
• 1+ years of programming experience using Python, MATLAB, or Embedded C/C++.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain test solutions for flight hardware including in-house electronics, optics, RF antennas, modulators, and electro-mechanical hardware.
• Select off-the-shelf or custom PCBAs to measure signals, apply flight-like loads, and power units under test.
• Write Python automation to interact with units, test equipment, and documentation systems.
• Collaborate with design, manufacturing, and test lab teams to improve reliability and yield.
• Root-cause test anomalies and implement mitigations.
