Job summary

Legrand in Syracuse, NY is seeking a Test Engineer to support development, certification, and quality assurance of wiring device products. You will perform electrical, electronic, mechanical, reliability, and performance testing; prepare test samples; collect and analyze data; and document results for engineering and stakeholders.

You will collaborate with Product Management, Engineering, Quality, and Compliance teams to evaluate designs, support certification efforts, and troubleshoot technical

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field required.
• 3+ years in engineering, testing, certification, or related lab setting.
• Experience with electrical test equipment and wiring devices preferred.
• Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate testing activities with teams and external labs.
• Maintain certification statuses (UL/ETL, NEC, CSA, CB).
• Plan and execute qualification, reliability, thermal, environmental tests.
• Collaborate with PMs, Eng, QA to evaluate designs against requirements.
• Follow test protocols and troubleshoot, improving equipment/docs.
• Perform electrical, mechanical, endurance tests with lab equipment.
• Prepare samples/fixtures and assist prototyping and validation.
• Travel up to 15% for external labs.
