Job summary

FastTek Global seeks a Wiring and Triage Engineer to lead the development and integration of electrical components in a fast-paced EV startup environment.

You will work with mechanical, electrical, and software teams to define wiring harnesses, schematics, and control modules, while applying LEAN practices and solving complex production issues.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in EE or related field; Master’s preferred.
• 5+ years in automotive electrical design and release.
• Hands-on schematic creation and supplier transmittals.
• Experience with LV components (breakers, relays, wiring).
• Experience with HV components (DCDC, motor, inverter, battery, OBC).
• CAN, LIN, Ethernet with UDS diagnostics experience.
• Familiarity with problem-solving methods (8D, Five Whys, Fishbone).
• Knowledge of FMVSS, NHTSA, DOT, USCAR, SAE, NEC, etc.
• Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration.
• Adaptable to startup/new model launches.
• MS Office proficiency.

We are looking for an energetic, organized, experienced Wiring and Triage Engineer to join our growing team. We are a new US Based Electric Vehicle company transforming the battery electric vehicle space. Our technology is designed to deliver the most reliable and most efficient low cost of ownership electric vehicle on the market.

Who We Are Looking For

We are looking for an energetic and organized Wiring and Triage Engineer to lead the development and integration of electrical components.

This Engineer will report to the Manager of Electrical Architecture and Power Distribution. Responsibilities will be broad in scope and complex, requiring creativity, superior initiative, good judgement, and leadership skills.

What You Get To Do

• Define 2D and schematics for the base vehicle and accessories, including wiring harnesses, control modules, lighting, and other components.
• Support designs using CAD software while ensuring compatibility with vehicle systems.
• Work with various engineering teams (mechanical, electrical, software) to ensure seamless integration of electrical components.
• Lead problem solving with manufacturing, purchasing, and other stakeholders to support production and resolve issues.
• Utilize LEAN Engineering methodologies throughout.

What You Bring To The Team

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or equivalent from an ABET accredited (or equivalent) program. Master's degree is preferred.
• 5 years of relevant experience in automotive electrical design and release.
• Hands on experience with schematic creation and device transmittals from suppliers.
• Hands on experience with Low Voltage (LV) components, such as circuit breakers, relays, wiring, etc.
• Hands on experience with High Voltage (HV) components, such as DCDC converter, motor and inverter, battery, on-board charger, etc.
• Hands on experience with CAN, LIN, and Ethernet communication protocols, including UDS based diagnostics.
• Experience using problem solving methodologies to diagnose complex issues, such as 8D, Five Whys, and Fishbone processes.
• Functional experience with industry standards and regulatory requirements, such as FMVSSS, NHTSA, DOT, USCAR, SAE, NEC, etc.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate cross-functional teams to achieve common goals.
• Highly adaptable and proactive, excelling in fast-paced start-up and new model launch environments.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Physical Requirements

• Must have the ability to travel (up to 50%).
• Must have the ability to lift up to 35 pounds.
• Must have the ability to stand, walk, and perform repetitive tasks for extended periods.
