Job summary

Great Basin College in Elko, NV seeks an Electrical Systems Technology Instructor to lead classroom and laboratory instruction for the Electrical Technology program. The position emphasizes hands-on teaching, safety, and curriculum development aligned with industry standards.

The incumbent will engage with mining and electrical industry partners to keep training relevant and prepare students for careers in the electrical trades.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a certified electrical trade school at minimum.
• Minimum of five years’ experience in industrial electrical.
• Teaching experience in a community college preferred.

Responsibilities

• Teach all aspects of the electrical program and promote electrical safety.
• Develop and teach courses in industrial and residential electrical technology, including electrical theory, electrical safety, NEC, AC/DC, PLCs, and motor controls.
• Provide hands-on instruction and demonstrations using electrical equipment and lab gear.
• Supervise labs and ensure safe work practices and proper use of tools.
• Advise and mentor students regarding academic progress and career opportunities.
• Work with industry partners to ensure training remains relevant.
