Job summary

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older.
• High School diploma or GED or equivalent.
• Valid California Driver's License.
• Ability to work in all types of weather extremes.
• Ability to drive safely in all weather and road conditions.
• Ability to work extended hours, nights, weekends and holidays.
• Must be able to lift 100 pounds a minimum of once daily.
• Must wear company-provided PPE.
• Two+ years of journeyman electrical technician experience with relay and control.
• Two years experience testing protective relay equipment in a power station or high voltage substation.
• Certified journey level Electrician.

Responsibilities

• Install, test and maintain protective relay equipment, carriers, supervisory equipment, station apparatus and related wiring.
• Proficient in print reading and schematics/diagrams of connections.
• Calibrate electro-mechanical and microprocessor relays (distance, overcurrent, undervoltage, etc.).
• Test current transformers (saturation, ratio, insulation resistance).
• Test power and potential transformers (polarity, turns ratio, insulation, oil tests).
• Test various transducers (voltage, watt, current).
• Pack/move equipment weighing up to 100 lbs on uneven terrain; climb stairs and ladders.
• Use PPE and safety equipment; work around chemicals and solvents.
• Operate a company vehicle; adhere to safety standards.
• Record and file test results; work with other technicians.
