Job summary

Plastipak Packaging, Inc. in Ottumwa, IA seeks an Electrical Technician to perform maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and installation of electrical and electronic systems.

You will support plant operations and engineering through configuring and optimizing control systems, including PLCs, HMIs, and servo drives. The role requires reading schematics, blueprints, and ladder logic, with knowledge of NEC and electrical safety.

Qualifications

• Three to five years of related experience in manufacturing or industrial electrical maintenance.
• Proficient reading, writing, math and computer skills (including SAP or equivalent systems).
• Demonstrates intermediate to advanced electrical aptitude with strong troubleshooting skills for PLC, HMI, servo, and vision systems.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, troubleshoot, repair, and install electrical/electronic systems and equipment.
• Support plant operations and engineering through configuration, programming, and optimization of electrical control systems.
• Perform diagnostics to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
• Participate in equipment installations, upgrades, and power distribution projects.
• Read schematics, blueprints, and ladder logic; mentor others as needed.
