Job summary

Plastipak Packaging, Inc. is seeking an Electrical Engineering Support Technician to help keep production running safely and efficiently by supporting plant electrical systems, troubleshooting automation, and improving equipment performance.

The role covers PLC/HMI programming, vision systems, robotics, and continuous improvements on the 3rd shift (Mon-Fri). You will collaborate with maintenance and technical leaders to prioritize issues and implement effective solutions.

Qualifications

Three years of PLC and HMI programming experience.
Proficiency with Studio 5000 and FactoryTalk View ME.
Experience with Yaskawa and FANUC robots and Ethernet networking.
Knowledge of Cognex vision systems.
Mechanical skills are a plus.
Ability to frequently lift and move up to 55 pounds.

Responsibilities

Provide electrical controls support and troubleshooting for production equipment.
Troubleshoot PLC programs and HMIs to support night shift operations.
Coordinate night shift Technical Support activities with Maintenance and Technical Leaders.
Identify root causes of equipment breakdowns and coordinate repairs.
Design, implement, troubleshoot, and improve vision control systems.
Modify equipment programs for engineering changes and maintain backups.
Train manufacturing personnel and plant electricians.
Participate in equipment safety reviews and risk assessments.
