Maniilaq Association seeks a Part-Time Electrician in Kotzebue, Alaska. The role covers repairs, maintenance, and installation of electrical systems, including life and fire safety components.

Requires Alaska Inside Wiring Certificate of Fitness, a valid Alaska license, and multiple years of electrician experience. Responsibilities include testing, troubleshooting, and ensuring compliance with codes; supervision of helpers when required, and potential on-call duties.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of a four-year advanced training program in the electrical field is preferred.
• At least five years experience as an electrician is required.
• One year of experience with life and fire safety systems is required.
• Must possess Alaska Inside Wiring Certificate of Fitness.

Responsibilities

• Repairs, maintains, and installs electrical systems and equipment.
• Locates and repairs electrical malfunctions using test instruments.
• Tests electrical equipment for safety and efficiency.
• Installs fixtures and motors; inspects circuits for proper shielding and grounding.
• Replaces bearings in motors and may repair related components.
• Works on low, normal, and high voltage systems.
• Supervises Laborer or other Technicians when needed.
• Reports to MHC Program Manager.
