Job summary

CONVERGIX Automation Solutions is seeking a hands-on Electrical Technician Lead to coordinate a team of technicians, drive project deadlines, and uphold quality standards on industrial automation projects. This is a hands-on role with responsibility to mentor apprentices and ensure on-time delivery.

You will perform wiring, assembly, debugging, and maintenance across customer sites, requiring strong leadership and journey-level technical skills. Travel nationally and internationally is expected.

Qualifications

• Time served as Electrical Technician and related field experience.
• Associates Degree in Electrical Engineering Technology or equivalent.
• Experience assembling, wiring and testing control panels to drawings.
• Knowledge of PLCs and industrial automation systems.
• 5+ years of manufacturing experience in electrical assembly or similar.
• Supervisory or mentorship experience would be beneficial.
• Willingness to travel nationally and internationally.

• Adhere to ISO9001:2015 procedures, promote safe working practices, and maintain housekeeping.

The Role

The Electrical Technician Lead is responsible for coordinating the activities of Electrical Technicians to carry out work in accordance with project deadlines and quality standards. This is a hands-on role and you will be expected to participate in team activities. This position reports to the Operations Manager.

• Organize resources effectively to meet project deadlines, budgets, and production requirements.
• Drive high levels of productivity and efficiency within the electrical team.
• Support managers, project engineers, and designers in achieving their objectives.
• Demonstrate fair, assertive, and effective leadership as a role model.
• Develop and enhance the technical skills of the electrical team, including apprentices.
• Perform electrical assembly and debugging on industrial automation and robotic systems as part of project teams.
• Assemble, wire, and test control panels and machine wiring according to detailed electrical schematics.
• Provide preventive and corrective maintenance support for all equipment, including on-site tasks.
• Ensure the team has the necessary tools and equipment to perform their duties efficiently.
• Adhere to ISO9001:2015 procedures, promote safe working practices, and maintain good housekeeping while safeguarding the company's reputation.

Qualifications and Experience

• Time served as Electrical Technician
• Associates Degree in Electrical Engineering Technology, or similar
• Highly skilled in assembly, wiring and testing control panels.
• Ability to work to technical drawings and parts lists
• Knowledge of PLCs
• 5+ years manufacturing experience in electrical assembly or other relevant industry
• Supervisory or mentorship experience
• Willing and able to travel to customer sites both nationally and internationally
• Effective interpersonal relationship and communication skills to create a positive and productive team-oriented environment with all departments
• A proactive and flexible approach to work and be comfortable with a dynamic environment with constantly changing priorities
• Ideally a background in industrial automation

Physical Demands

• While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to feel objects, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, talk and hear.
• Occasionally lifts or move up to 25 pounds.
