Job summary

Actalent is seeking an Electrical Technician in Peoria, IL to support operator control systems and electronic components. You will help ensure purchased components meet internal standards through spec development, supplier evaluation, and component validation.

You will collaborate with internal customers to define requirements for new products, assess supplier capabilities, and participate in lab-based testing activities, including writing test plans to validate supplied components.

Qualifications

• Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in electronics or related field.
• Hands-on electronics experience.
• Ability to read electrical schematics.
• Familiarity with J1939 data-link protocols.
• Experience with test plans and lab procedures.

Responsibilities

• Support operator control systems and electronic components.
• Ensure components meet internal standards via specs and supplier evaluation.
• Write specifications and vet suppliers.
• Define technical requirements for new products.
• Assess suppliers for capabilities and timelines.
• Validate components with suppliers.
• Troubleshoot electrical/electronic issues in the field.
• Develop and document test plans for components.
• Perform hands-on troubleshooting with meters and scopes.
• Read electrical schematics to diagnose issues.
• Apply circuitry and J1939 knowledge for diagnostics.
• Conduct lab testing for performance and reliability.
• Document test results and recommendations.
• Support software/firmware aspects as needed.
• Maintain a safe lab environment.
