Job summary

UL Solutions in Northbrook, IL is seeking a detail-oriented associate to join the Industrial Controls Lab. You will set up and perform electrical testing on PLCs, motor drives, contactors, and safety devices, reading blueprints and wiring diagrams to ensure compliant test results.

You will analyze data, report findings, and contribute to continuous improvement across testing operations. The position offers full-time employment with benefits including health coverage, a 401(k) plan, and paid time

Qualifications

• Associate degree or military equivalent in Electronics Technician or related field.
• Strong electrical/electronics knowledge.
• Experience with UL products or similar testing environments.
• Effective communication skills with customers.
• Creative and innovative mindset.
• Team-oriented collaboration.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
• Ability to incorporate automation into testing.

Responsibilities

• Set up and perform electrical testing on samples using schematics and instruments.
• Analyze test performance and review data with supervisor.
• Build test setups and adjust equipment for testing.
• Ensure correct voltage, amperage, and power factor per requirements.
• Operate lab equipment and maintain test area; communicate with engineers and clients as needed.
• Record data and prepare test reports; plan tests and interpret results.
• Apply continuous improvement concepts to the job.
• Perform other duties as directed.
