Job Description

Amentum is seeking an Electrical Technician II to join our operations & maintenance team in New Albany, Ohio.

This position is responsible for performing at the intermediate level of expertise with assisting in performing preventative maintenance on the heating and cooling of air and water, power supply, generators, UPS systems, electrical distribution and control and monitoring systems.

The Electrical Technician II is responsible for the prioritization of work based on the needs of the client and for the on-time completion of all work, as well as all documentation involved. This position is directly responsible for maintaining and assisting site engineering teams to meet site electrical needs.

Responsibilities:

  1. Maintain current and future facility electrical systems.
  2. Diagnose, troubleshoot, maintain, and repair electrical equipment and control circuits from 24v up to and including 480V AC, electro-mechanical test devices, instrumentation devices, PLCs / ladder logic controllers, and variable frequency drives as necessary.
  3. Work safely near or around 13.8K voltage.
  4. Support facility electrical expansion projects.
  5. Inspect, maintain, and repair critical infrastructure systems such as servers, network equipment, PLCs, system administration, access control, alarm investigation, and SCADA.
  6. Read blueprints/schematics/ladder logic/sequence of operations, conduct tours of systems, and assess their working order.
  7. Adhere to Federal, State and Local electrical codes and NFPA70e standards.
  8. Identify and correct safety-related issues and perform equipment evaluations to prevent failures.
  9. Perform preventive maintenance on process/production equipment as scheduled in the CMMS.
  10. Respond to work orders, ensuring compliance with codes, regulations, and standards.
  11. Analyze and resolve work problems or assist others in solving work issues.
  12. Follow safety regulations, including proper PPE, lockout/tagout, and hazard analysis.
  13. Operate measuring, diagnostic, and testing instruments for energy efficiency solutions.
  14. Use various tools and diagnostic hardware to perform tasks.
  15. Maintain a schedule while demonstrating flexibility for the benefit of the customer.
  16. Promote and adhere to the Amentum Safety Structure.
  17. Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements:

  1. High school diploma or equivalent.
  2. 3-4 years’ experience as an electrician in relevant environments or equivalent education/experience.
  3. Ability to work in aerial lifts/scissor lifts up to 30 feet or higher.
  4. Strong organizational and time management skills, self-motivated.

Additional information:

  • Pre-employment background and drug tests required.
  • Ability to obtain security access badge.
  • Valid driver’s license may be required.
  • Work may include various shifts, weekends, and schedules.

Physical Requirements:

  • Repetitive wrist movements.
  • Extensive walking and climbing during work.
  • Ability to bend, kneel, reach, and differentiate wire colors.
  • Read and understand technical documents and operate computers.
  • Communicate effectively in person and via phone.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Maintain professionalism under stress.

Special Requirements:

  • Wear PPE including steel toe shoes, safety glasses, gloves, hard hats.
  • Work around chemicals and regulated materials.
  • Use measurement tools to OEM specifications.

Other Attributes:

  • Willing to work overtime, holidays, and weekends as needed.
  • Schedule flexibility based on business needs.
