The COMET contract provides overall management and implementation of ground systems capabilities, flight hardware processing, and launch operations at NASA's Kennedy Space Center (KSC) in Florida. These tasks will support the International Space Station, Ground Systems Development and Operations, and the Space Launch System, Orion Multi-Purpose Crew Vehicle, and Launch Services programs.
Work as an electrical Technician supporting the COMET contract on Kennedy Space Center. This position will support Explorations Ground Systems processing working for Ground Systems Support on electrical systems for Launch Pad B, Transporters, and Mobile Launcher. It is for a mid-to-senior level electrical technician that works well independently and as part of a team.

· Maintain, repair, and operate transporters consisting of D/C power, Low and Medium Voltage power, and Fire and Smoke detection systems.
· Maintain, repair, and operate A/C facility electrical systems on Mobile Launcher and Launch Pad B. These systems include, but are not limited to facility electrical, grounding, and lightning protection.
· Provide practical application of hand tools, power tools, and lifts to build, repair, validate, and maintain equipment per written instructions.
· Utilize precision measuring and testing equipment to diagnose, test, and analyze the performance of components, assemblies, or systems.
· Utilize computer-based applications for training and work execution.
Qualifications – External
HS Diploma, or equivalent, with five (5) years related experience working with electrical systems.

Job Requirements
· Must have proven troubleshooting ability, using a systematic approach and the repair of AC and DC electrical control systems including motors, motor controls, transformers, switchgear, electrical panels, and other associated equipment.
· Requires rounded training and experience acquired through a formal apprenticeship or equivalent training and experience.
· Familiarity with NFPA 70E, standard for Electrical Safety in the workplace.
· Experience with operation and maintenance of low voltage systems.
· Must possess or can obtain a Class D motor vehicle license.
· Must be able to accurately communicate ideas in writing and verbal communication.
· Must be able to work at heights (>300 feet) utilizing proper protective equipment.
· Must work well in a team environment and interface well with the client.
Physical Requirements
· May be required to climb stairs to access equipment for troubleshooting.
· Will be required to wear hearing protection, eye protection, and other associated personal protective equipment.
· Position may involve extended periods of sitting or standing.
· Physical requirements include sitting, walking, standing, extensive use of stairs, and access to remote structures.
· Position is located on a hazardous testing facility; must be able to quickly evacuate buildings in an emergency.
Work Environment
· May be required to work inside and outside throughout the test complex.
· Position may require daily travel to different areas on site.
· Walking on uneven terrain including paved areas, gravel/rocks, and dirt/sand may be necessary to access various locations.
· Climbing ladders and platforms may be necessary.
· All work must be completed in a safe manner in accordance with NASA and company safety standards.
Equipment and Machines
· Computers and printers used for reports and schedules.
· Variety of equipment used in testing.
Attendance
· Full-time work hours.
· Position may require occasional overtime, including weekends.
· Must be dependable and punctual.
· Shift work may be required.
Other Essential Functions
· Must be able to communicate ideas clearly in writing and verbally.
· Must be able to travel as needed, including airline travel. Accommodations can be arranged for POV if necessary.
· Grooming and dress must be appropriate and not pose safety risks.
· Must comply with all “drug free workplace” policies, including drug testing.
· Government security clearance may be required in the future.
· Must maintain a positive work atmosphere and good relations with colleagues and clients.
