Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Organize and execute work to optimize production and efficiency.
• Document tasks and provide status updates as needed.

• Fabricate and install wire harnesses and cable assemblies, modify wiring as required.
• Overhaul/repair/modify electrical equipment using drawings and references.
• Remove/install components and wiring to support production; perform basic mechanical tasks as needed.
• Use hand tools, crimpers, wire strippers, and specialized testing equipment for installation and repair.
• Use diagnostic equipment to test continuity, voltage, and system performance.
• Lead and guide lower-level electrical technicians.
• Travel to onsite locations for deliveries, modifications, and asset recoveries; handle government equipment.
• Safely handle government-furnished equipment and materials.
• Maintain a standard weekly schedule with overtime as required.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

General Summary

The Electrical Technician II performs intermediate-level tasks related to the maintenance and repair of electrical equipment systems. Responsibilities include installation, inspection, and troubleshooting electrical systems with a focus on ensuring efficient and safe operations. The role is primarily electrical but may include mechanical and simulation duties. The role requires working independently on various tasks and assisting higher-level electricians as needed. All work is subject to inspection for quality, efficiency, and safety to ensure customer satisfaction.

Essential Job Functions

• Organizes and executes work assignments to optimize production and efficiency.
• Accurately documents completed tasks and work performed. May be requested to provide status updates and other input or feedback.
• Uses IETM and other technical directives, reads and interprets electrical schematics, drawings, and manufacturer data to complete removal and installation of system components, and completes other assigned tasks.
• Manufactures and installs wire harness and cable assemblies. Modifies and/or repairs existing system wiring as required.
• Overhauls, repairs, or modifies electrical equipment and components as needed using technical drawings and other reference material.
• Performs removal and installation of components, wire harnesses, and other parts and assemblies to facilitate production efforts. May be required to perform basic mechanical tasks to facilitate as necessary.
• Uses hand tools, crimpers, wire strippers, and other specialized equipment for electrical system installation, assembly, and repair. Uses advanced tools and specialized electrical/electronic test equipment effectively.
• Uses electrical measuring and diagnostic equipment to perform continuity, voltage, and other tests to validate electrical system installations, diagnose circuits, and troubleshoot faults.
• Performs system operational tests and verifications to facilitate production as necessary. Analyzes technical data, engineering drawings, and specifications to guide repair actions.
• Provides leadership and technical guidance to lower-level electrical technicians.
• Required to travel to onsite locations for deliveries, modifications, and asset recoveries; access military establishments and handle government equipment as required.
• Must be capable of safely handling government-furnished equipment and materials.
• Must be available to work a standard weekly schedule with overtime as required.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Required to have a thorough knowledge of electrical doctrines as related to electrical systems.
• Possess a thorough understanding of the operational theory of electrical power systems.
• Possess a thorough degree of understanding in interpreting electrical schematics, drawings, and manufacturer-supplied data.
• Exhibits a thorough level of ability in the diagnostic troubleshooting of electrical power systems and electrical circuit wiring.

Education and Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• At least five (5) years of related experience required.
• Experience with aircraft electrical systems preferred.
