General Summary

The Electrical Technician I is an entry-level position focused on basic electrical tasks within manufacturing or production environments. Responsibilities include electrical system manufacturing, installation, modification, and repair. The role requires working independently and in teams to accomplish tasks with a focus on safety, quality and efficiency to ensure customer satisfaction.

Essential Job Functions

• Organizes and executes work assignments to optimize production and efficiency.
• Accurately documents completed tasks and work performed. May be requested to provide status updates and other input or feedback.
• Uses IETM and other technical directives, reads and interprets electrical schematics, drawings, and manufacturer data to complete assigned tasks.
• Manufactures and installs wire harness and cable assemblies. Modifies and/or repairs existing system wiring as required.
• Overhauls, repairs, or modifies electrical equipment and components as needed using technical drawings and other reference material.
• Performs removal and installation of components, wire harness and other parts and assemblies to facilitate production efforts. May be required to perform basic mechanical tasks to facilitate as necessary.
• Uses hand tools, crimpers, wire strippers, and other specialized equipment for electrical system installation, assembly and repair.
• Uses electrical measuring and diagnostic equipment to perform continuity, voltage and other tests to validate electrical system installations, diagnoses circuits and troubleshoots faults.
• Performs system operational tests and verifications to facilitate production as necessary.
• Provides technical guidance to lower-level electrical technicians.
• Required to travel to onsite locations for deliveries, modifications, and asset recoveries; access military establishments and handle government equipment as required.
• Must be capable of safely handling government-furnished equipment and materials.
• Must be available to work a standard weekly schedule with overtime as required.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Basic understanding of electrical theory and circuit analysis.

• Basic skills in diagnosing and correcting electrical faults and discrepancies.
• Ability to work safely around hazardous areas, including high/low voltage systems, mechanical, and hydraulic systems.
• Basic computer skills. Must be able to maintain electronic timesheets, make use of email and other communication applications, document completed tasks, request parts, generate basic documents and spreadsheets to facilitate production.
• Employee must provide own tools no later than 180 days after hire date.
• Ability to communicate effectively, both verbal and in writing.
• Must be able to obtain a security clearance when required by the contract.

Education and Experience

• High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
• Minimum of one (1) year of relevant experience with aircraft electrical systems.
