Job summary

Astec is seeking an Electrical Technician to support our manufacturing electrical department. Under supervision, you will assemble, evaluate, troubleshoot and test electrical wiring and equipment to meet product specifications and safety standards.

You will read electrical blueprints, perform preventative maintenance, and collaborate with engineering to improve processes. This role involves working with energized equipment and requires attention to safety and quality in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• 0-2 years manufacturing experience preferred.
• Detail oriented with good workmanship and ability to follow directions with minimal supervision.
• Experience working cross-functionally in a team environment.
• Strong problem-solving skills and willingness to learn troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

• Assemble, evaluate, test, and maintain electrical wiring, equipment, appliances, and apparatus.
• Troubleshoot and repair malfunctioning equipment.
• Read electrical and electrical circuit blueprints and diagrams.
• Perform preventative maintenance on a regular schedule.
• Test heaters and related equipment before shipping to customer sites.
