Job summary

GlobalFoundries is seeking a skilled and motivated electrical technician to develop, implement, and support the Electronic Repair Center (ERC) for Fab 8, in Malta, New York. This role focuses on improving equipment availability and reducing spend by repairing and refurbishing semiconductor hardware.

The position requires 3-4 years of PCB/Controller/robot/power supply repair experience, strong teamwork and English fluency, and the ability to work in a cleanroom environment with proper PPE.

Qualifications

• Education - High School Diploma and/or equivalent.
• Experience - Min of 3-4 years' experience with electronic repair of PCB/Controllers/Robots/Power Supplies, other similar relevant military training / credentials, and/or similar relevant experience.
• Travel - Up to 10%.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work within a tightly coupled team.
• Language Fluency - Fluent in English.
• Language - both written & verbal.
• Physical Capacity Demands:Ability to work in a cleanroom environment per semiconductor protocol/requirements.
• Ability to wear all required clean room protective clothing and equipment.
• Ability to lift to 40 pounds / bending / twisting.

Responsibilities

• Provide bench repair for electronic components (PCBs, Controllers, Cables, Robots, Power Supplies), automated material handler components and systems repair/refurb, and computer/controller repair for the Electronic Repair Shop at Fab 8.
• Generate and execute standard work practices for electronic repair.
• Develop Electronic Repair Pipelines & Standard Work for Repair Work.
• Develop and implement standards and standard work by utilizing job breakdown sheets and ensure training plans are in place for team members.
• Work with Modules to Determine High Leverage Opportunities and turn them into Productivity Results.
• Support fab for critical tool down repairs with high quality and efficiency.
• Perform all activities in a safe and responsible manner and support all Environmental, Health, Safety & Security requirements, and programs.
• Other duties as assigned by manager / supervisor
