Role Description The Electrical Technician role at Modutek Corporation is a full-time, on-site position based in San Jose, CA. This role focuses on building, installing, and servicing electrical systems for semiconductor manufacturing and wet bench equipment. Day-to-day responsibilities include wiring panels and equipment, performing electrical assembly and integration, and ensuring compliance with electrical codes and safety standards. The Electrical Technician will troubleshoot electrical issues, perform preventive maintenance, and support system start-up, testing, and final acceptance at customer sites. The role also involves reading and interpreting electrical schematics, collaborating with engineering and production teams, and documenting work performed for quality and service records.

Qualifications

• Strong electrical maintenance and troubleshooting skills for industrial equipment and systems.
• Electrical panel assembly and point-to-point wiring from schematics.
• Troubleshooting AC/DC power, relays, sensors, VFDs, motors, heaters, pumps, and control circuits.
• PLC/HMI exposure—especially Allen-Bradley, Siemens, Omron, or Mitsubishi.
• Test equipment proficiency: multimeters, megohmmeters, oscilloscopes, clamp meters, hipot testers.
• Experience with UL 508A-style control panels, NEC/NFPA 70E practices, lockout/tagout, and electrical documentation.
• Ability to read electrical drawings, BOMs, wiring diagrams, and mechanical assembly drawings.
• Field commissioning, customer-site service, root-cause analysis, and mentoring junior technicians.
• Hands-on experience working with electrical equipment, including installation, testing, and repair.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation.
• Knowledge of relevant electrical codes, safety standards, and best practices in industrial environments.
• Prior experience in semiconductor, high-technology manufacturing, or similar industrial settings is preferred.
• Technical diploma, apprenticeship, or associate degree in Electrical Technology or a related field is beneficial.
