You'll program PLC equipment, mount DIN rails, and work across a small production team to meet schedules. Training and cross-training are available, with opportunities to advance as expertise grows in electrical and mechanical assemblies.
This full-time role focuses on advanced electrical assembly with a strong mechanical component in a manufacturing environment. The Electrical Technician assembles, wires, and tests electronic control panels and related mechanical and electrical equipment, including motors, motor starters, intensifier pump systems, and motion system controllers. The position requires the ability to perform full motion system start-up, verify pump interfaces, validate options, back up controls, and diagnose performance issues while adhering to applicable codes and safety standards. The role also involves training others and cross-training in mechanical assembly, with a strong emphasis on quality, efficiency, and on-time, defect-free work.
Assemble small electrical and mechanical assemblies and junction boxes, ensuring accurate and secure installation of components.
Mount DIN rail, wireway, and components onto inner panels according to layout and design specifications.
Program and install PLC equipment as required for control panel and system operation.
Layout panels using measuring devices such as templates, tape measures, steel rulers, and framing squares to ensure precise component placement.
Wire motion systems to control enclosures and complete wiring of motors using cable kits, drive boxes, junction boxes, and pneumatic solenoid banks.
Support the pump run-in process and diagnose electrical issues that arise during testing or operation.
Start up motion systems and oversee laser and ball-bar calibrations, or grow into this responsibility with guidance and training.
Perform secondary operations such as drilling, tapping, and related mechanical tasks to complete assemblies.
Test assemblies and system options to verify proper operation and functionality, and troubleshoot electrical issues as needed.
Load PLC programs and confirm proper interface between pumps and motion systems.
Back up control configurations and shut systems down safely in preparation for packaging and shipment.
Troubleshoot electrical issues using visual inspection, electrical testing techniques, and diagnostic tools.
Maintain accurate red-line drawing markups to document changes required during fabrication and communicate these changes to appropriate stakeholders.
Apply knowledge of electrical schematics, UL 508A, and applicable sections of the National Electrical Code (NFPA 70 and NFPA 79) to ensure compliant and safe assemblies.
Operate forklifts, cranes, and other material handling devices safely and efficiently when moving components and assemblies.
Work both independently and collaboratively with the production team to meet production schedules and quality standards.
Follow safety rules, company procedures, and quality guidelines to complete all work on time, defect free, efficiently, and without accidents.
Technical school training in electrical, electronics, or a related field is preferred.
Experience assembling junction boxes, mounting DIN rail and wireway, and installing components on inner panels.
Familiarity with programming and installing PLC equipment.
Experience wiring motion systems to control enclosures, motors, drive boxes, junction boxes, and pneumatic solenoid banks.
Ability to support pump run-in processes and diagnose related electrical issues.
Exposure to laser and ball-bar calibration processes for motion systems.
Experience performing secondary operations such as drilling and tapping in support of assembly work.
Ability to maintain accurate red-line markups and communicate design or fabrication changes.
Comfort working in a small production team environment with close collaboration and cross-training opportunities.
You will join a smaller, rapidly growing organization that offers competitive compensation and significant opportunities for professional growth. The compact team structure allows you to have a meaningful impact on products and processes while developing advanced skills in both electrical and mechanical assembly. As the company grows, you can expand your responsibilities, deepen your technical expertise, and pursue new career paths in a supportive and collaborative environment.
The role is based in a small, clean production environment with approximately 10 people working on the production floor. You will work around electrical control panels, mechanical assemblies, pumps, motion systems, and related equipment. The position involves regular use of hand tools, power tools, and measurement devices such as templates, tape measures, steel rulers, and framing squares.
